About Joseph Age 12: Convinces local florist to hire him for after school job. On day three, he realizes flowers will somehow be a part of his livelihood forever. Raids mother's flowerbed to create a simple classic nosegay of lily of the valley. Garden destroyed. Bouquet breathtaking. Age 21: After almost nine years of apprenticing Joseph becomes a designer in a downtown Chicago flower shop. He decides to enter a design competition at a national floral convention and wins first place in all seven categories of judging. Age 26: Opens a retail floral design shop in Wacker Drive in Chicago - in 12 months he has three retail locations in various parts of town encompassing 20,000 square feet and managing a staff of 19! YIKES!! Age 32: Sells business to partners, as sunny California calls. Moves to Los Angeles. Works on movie and TV projects and provides weekly flower services for Harrison Ford at his Brentwood home. Breaks expensive vase. Age 36: Moves to NYC (not because of the vase) and continues to follow passion. Lands an opportunity to work with idol Christian Tortu assisting at the wedding of Jackie O's nephew in the Hamptons. Age 45: Moves to San Francisco. Can't work weekends any more - has a partner and a dog. Starts to sell furniture but never really stops doing flowers for friends and clients. After almost sending both partner and dog to the poorhouse from giving increasingly elaborate dinner parties in order to create bigger and better table settings and flower arrangements, Joseph makes a decision to go back into the floral business. Age 49: Launches new business - Joseph Andrade Floral - a full service floral and event business encompassing everything from the single 'honey I screwed up' bouquet to full scale weddings and events for 300 party guests.
